Vital win for men in Boolavogue

Wexford Football League Division One
St Cormacs 2 Tombrack United 3
In one of only two matches played in the men's league, our lads made the short journey to St Cormacs and after a dogged battle in very difficult conditions, they came away with a very important three points. Tombrack started well and went in front on eighteen minutes when Eoin Carton found the net but fifteen minutes later, St Cormacs were deservedly back on level terms.
Our lads started the second half well and after creating some good chances, they went 2-1 ahead when Eoin scored his second on the hour mark and seven minutes later, he completed his hat trick to put the lads 3-1 ahead. The home side pulled a goal back with ten minutes remaining but Tombrack did enough to see out the game to pick up all three points and move level with St Cormacs and Wexford Bohs but with several games in hand on both.
The lads are in an interesting position as they currently involved in a relegation battle but if they won their games in hand, they would go top of the table so it is still a long and interesting season ahead for the lads with also still being involved in two cups
In the only other league game played, Corach Ramblers moved top of the division with a 2-0 win at home to St Leonards
