Men go down in high scoring thriller

Under Twelve Schoolboys Division Three
Forth Celtic 4 Tombrack United 1
Our Under Twelve boys completed their season on Saturday in a game where they controlled the first half but Forth took control of the second. Stephen O Toole had Tombrack 1-0 ahead at the break but Forth bounced back to run out 4-1 winners despite our lads putting in a hard working performance. This team put in an excellent performance all season and deserved to finish higher than their final position of fifth suggests and are a credit to their management of Bob and David. Well done to all

Mens Division One
Tombrack United 5 Corach Ramblers 6
Probably one of the craziest games to be played in Ballyboy since the pitch was opened with the league winners eventually going home with all three points after a late penalty saw them come out on top in an eleven goal thriller. First Tombrack led 3-0, then went 5-3 behind before coming back to 5-5 with Ramblers having the final say to take victory. Matthew Hendrick scored two with Rory Newe, Mick "Savo" Kelly and Eoin Carton all scored for Tombrack and the lads now travel to Ferrycarrig Park next Sunday to take on Rosslare Rangers in the Premier Division play off with kick off at 10-30am. Best of luck to Joe, Willie and all the lads

Under Sixteen Schoolgirls Premier One
This week also saw our Under Sixteen girls crowned Premier champions after Cloughbawn failed to fulfil their fixture against Shelburne and forfeited any mathematical chance they had of catching our girls to force a play off. Despite the league eventually being won due to a walkover, it must be remembered that Tombrack beat Cloughbawn twice in the league so are well worthy of their title and will be presented with their trophy at their final league match against Bunclody which is provisionally pencilled in for next Friday. Well done to Sean, Bridget and all the girls
