O Neills Leinster Junior Cup First Round
Tombrack United 2 Enniskerry YC 0
A strong first half performance saw our first team overcome Leinster Senior League side Enniskerry YC on Sunday afternoon. This game was postponed twice in the past but eventually went ahead in almost ideal conditions and Tombrack put in a slick controlled performance to advance to a second round meeting with Kilmore United.
Goals from Eoin Carton and John Coleman saw the lads control the game and some good possession football in the second half served to frustrate the high ranking visitors while some good defending from our lads reduced the Enniskerry forwards to long distance shots and half chances in the area.
This was a well deserved win for Tombrack and they will now face Wexford Premier side Kilmore United in Ballyboy in the next round
Wexford Division Four A
Tombrack United 2 Ajax Athletic 2
Our second team continued their good run of form and sit just behind the promotion chasing pack after this 2-2 draw at home to Ajax. After a poor start to the season, our second team have moved from near the foot of the table to mid table where they are tucked in behind the top four. Eoghan Murphy scored both goals in this strong overall team performance and manager John Brownrigg now believes that his team is capable of at least promotion
