Mens Division Four A
Rosslare Port 3 Tombrack United 4
Our mens second team travelled to Rosslare (possibly two and a half hours early) but when the game did eventually kick off, they produced a top class performance to record their second win in a row.
In a seven goal thriller, Tombrack came out on top and after a poor start to the season. they are now pushing their way up the table into a challenge for promotion. Savo scored two with John Ryan and John Kavanagh getting a goaleach
Women's Division Three
Tombrack United 1 Stoney LFC 1
Our women played their first league match of the season this morning in Ballyboy and picked up a point against a very strong Stoney side. In a game that struggled to find a rhythem, both sides created chances but were either well defended or missed and the game looked to be heading for a scoreless draw until Sarah Merrigan cut in from the left to score in the 89th minute. Thirty seconds later the sides were level when Stoney broke from the kick off to score and in the end both sides had to be content with a point.
Tombrack did enjoy most of the possession but did not take their chances while Stoney always looked more than dangerous on the break
Team: Katie O Toole, Mary Boland, Lauren Byrne, Eimear Whelan, Tia Byrne, Marie Allen, Sharon Walsh, (Leanne Kenny), Kelli Maguire, Mary Martin, Chloe Hayden Doyle, Sarah Merrigan
