Loads of goals on first Sunday of 2017

Wexford Volkswagon Cup First Round
Enniscorthy Town B  0  Tombrack United  11
Our men's first team booked their place in the second round as they cruised past Division Four A side Enniscorthy Town second team. The lads were always in control and two goals each from Eoin Carton, JohnColeman and James Coleman plus a goal each fromTommy Devereux, Jamie Murphy, Jamie Walsh, Kevin Kenny and Kevin Coleman who is returning from a long term injury saw the lads hit double figures.

Crossabeg AFC  3  Tombrack United B  2
Our men's B team put in an excellent performance against Division Two side Crossabeg and were unlucky to lose out by the odd goal in five. Mark O Connor and Mick "Savo" Kelly were on target for our lads who battled right to the end and will feel unfortunate not to have at least brought this cup tie to extra time

Women's Division Three
Cushinstown AFC  0  Tombrack United  6
Our women moved two points clear at the top of the table after this 6-0 win away to a hard working Cushinstown side whose goalkeeper picked this game to produce the performance of the season. After several near misses from Sarah Merrigan, Sharon Walsh, Mary Boland and Tammy Hennessy, Shannon McGovern eventually shot to the net just past the half hour mark to put the women in front. The constant pressure paid off in the second half as Shannon scored another two, followed by one from Kelli Maguire, then Shannon added her fourth before Sarah rounded off the 6-0 win with a well struck long range effort. Another of the schoolgirl squad made her debut in this match when Breda Cushen came on as a sub with twenty minutes to go.
The women now travel to Stoney next Sunday for the all important top of the table clash

Squad: Ashling Kavanagh, Mary Martin, Saoirse Harris, Eimear Whelan, Mary Boland, Sarah Merrigan, Shannon McGovern, Kelli Maguire (Breda Cushen), Chloe Hayden Doyle, Tammy Hennessy (Leanne Kenny), Sharon Walsh (Katie O Toole)
