Under Eleven Cup Second Round
Tombrack United 3 Gorey Celtic 7
Our Under Eleven boys produced one of their goal filled games as they put in a good display against a well organised Gorey Celtic before eventually losing out 7-3. Stephen O Toole scored all three goals for Tombrack but just could not contain the fire power of the Celtic side
Under Thirteen Cup First Round
Tombrack United 0 Wexford Albion 7
The Under Thirteen boys were given a tough draw in the cup when they came up against the league's top team Wexford Albion. Our lads worked hard against their experienced opposition and while Albion managed to score seven, Tombrack can feel happy with their days work
Under Fifteen Cup First Round
Tombrack United 2 Cloughbawn AFC 5
It was late in the game before Cloughbawn eventually got the upperhand of this game and were well in contention until midway through the second half. David Power and Josh McMullan were on target for Tombrack and they now can concentrate on their league run in where they are still in contention for the Division Three title
Ger Dunne Under Sixteen Schoolgirls Cup First Round
Bunclody AFC 1 Tombrack United 0
A below par performance in the first half from Tombrack saw Bunclody take an early lead in this high profile Under Sixteen cup game. The well organised home side were able to contain Tombrack for the remainder of the first half and although our girls dominated the second half, they were unable to break down a resolute Bunclody defence
Wexford Youths Cup First Round
Tombrack United 5 St Josephs 2
Our Youths made their way through to the second round of the cup when they overcame St Josephs 5-2. The lads were always in control in this game and two goals from John Kavanagh and one each from Kevin Kenny, Sean Kirwan and Kieran Kenny saw the lads through
Mens First Team
Neil O Sullivan Cup First Round
Tombrack United 0 Shelburne AFC 0 aet
(Tombrack United won 4-3 on pens)
After a very closely contested Neil O Sullivan Cup tie, the lads came through a very entertaining encounter and booked their place in the second round courtesy of a penalty shoot out. This was always going to be a potentially tricky match for our lads but they competed well and were always well in contention and in the end were probably deserving of their victory
The lads would also like to take this opportunity to wish keeper Jason Maguire the best of luck as he leaves the club to join Wexford Youths Under Nineteen squad. This is a great achievement for Jason and everyone in the club pass on our best wishes
Mens Second Team
Gwyn Jones Cup First Round
Tombrack United 2 Rosslare Rangers 0
Our men's second team pulled off one of the big upsets of the day when they knocked Division Four title challengers Rosslare Rangers out of the Gwyn Jones Cup. Our lads were good value for our win which was well deserved with goals from Lee McHale and James Hendrick
Womens Division Three
Stoney LFC 0 Tombrack United 1
Our women travelled to Horetown for this top of the table clash and after this 1-0 win, they now sit five points clear at the top of the table. Shannon McGovern put Tombrack ahead after six minutes and we were unlucky not to double that lead minutes later when Mary Boland hit the crossbar which was closely followed by Chloe Hayden Doyle going close. Stoney pulled themselves back into the game but our defence held firm with Mary Martin making a vital block ten minutes before half time to keep Tombrack in front. Our women continued to control the second half with Sarah Merrigan, Shannon, Marie Allenand Kelli Maguire all going close to doubling the lead with Breda Cushen and Leanne Kenny making immediate impacts when being introduced midway through the second half.
Tombrack were well deserving of the victory and while there are still four games to go, they have moved themselves into pole position in the division
Squad: Ashling Kavanagh, Mary Martin, Mary Boland, Tia Byrne, Eimear Whelan, Sarah Merrigan, Marie Allen (Saoirse Harris), Kelli Maguire, Chloe Hayden Doyle (Breda Cushen), Sharon Walsh (Leanne Kenny), Shannon McGovern, Lauren Byrne
