Wexford Football League Division One
Curracloe United 2 Tombrack United 4
The lads travelled to Curracloe on Tuesday evening and a good 4-2 win saw them move to within one point of third place and a possible play off for a place in the Premier Division is still on the cards. In an exciting first half Richie O Hara and James Coleman were on target for the lads to lead 2-1 and although Curracloe levelled early in the second half, Tombrack reacted well to take all three points. Kevin Coleman crossed into the area for Savo to restore the lead and when Jamie Walsh scored, the three points were secured
Neil O Sullivan Cup Semi Final
Tombrack United 0 Bridge Rovers 1
An exciting cup semi final ended in heartbreak for Tombrack when a last minute goal saw them knocked out of the Neil O Sullivan Cup in a game they could have won. This was never going to be an easy game as two of the top teams in the division clashed but Tombrack will feel they left it behind them as they created sufficient chances to book their place in the final. However they found the Bridge Rovers goalkeeper to be in super form and he pulled off some excellent saves at crucial points in the game and as the game seemed to be heading to extra time, Bridge capitalised on a loose ball in the area to shoot to the net. At this late stage, it was almost impossible to grab an equaliser and Rovers held on for the win.
The lads now travel to St Josephs next Sunday looking for the win that will ensure them of a play off for a place in the Premier division
Schoolboys Under Twelve Division Three
Tombrack United 3 Cloughbawn AFC 1
An excellent first half performance saw our our Under Twelve boys pick up a vital three points on Monday evening to keep their chances of finishing runners up alive. They led 3-0 at half time thanks to goals from Danny Dreelan, Stephen O Toole and Nathan Kelly and although Cloughbawn pulled one back in the second half, the lads held on for the win. This victory shows the improvement in the team as Cloughbawn won the match between the sides earlier in the season 5-0. The lads take on leaders Shelburne on Tuesday evening in Tombrack in another crucial match
Schoolboys Under Fifteen Division Three
Wexford Albion 2 Tombrack United 3
Our Under Fifteen boys ended their season with a win and cemented third place with a 3-2 win away to Wexford Albion. David Power, Sean Murtagh and Harry Fitzgibbon were all on target for the lads who were competitive all season and actually inflicted the only defeat of the season on the league winners Gorey Rangers when they beat them in one of the early games of the season
Schoolgirls Under Twelve Division Two B
Tombrack United 1 Taghmon United 4
Our Under Twelve Schoolgirls completed their season on Saturday when they hosted Taghmon United in Ballyboy. Ana Dragusan was on target for the girls in a game that was much closer than the scoreline suggests.
