Under Ten Schoolgirls Division One
All Blacks 2 Tombrack United 0
Our youngest girls team travelled to Mayglass this morning for a vital league tie that would effectively determine their season. Despite playing very well. luck was not on their side and they eventually lost 2-0 which wrapped up the league for the home. All Blacks took an early lead and despite Tombrack working hard to get back on level terms, including bringing two good saves from the keeper and also hitting the post, the home team clinched the game with a second goal in the final minute. Our girls are still well in contention for second place with two games to go, the first of those two games is away to Wexford Youths next Saturday
Under Twelve Schoolboys Division Three
Tombrack United 2 Curracloe United 2
Our Under Twelve boys will wonder how they managed to throw away this match and possibly their chance of challenging for the title along with it. Goals from Niall Mimnagh and Stephen O Toole had our lads 2-0 up and looked to be well in control but they allowed Curracloe back in the game and back to level terms. A late missed penalty added to their woes and although this draw has hindered their title ambitions, they are still in contention for at least second place with three games to go
Under Fourteen Schoolgirls Division Two B
Tombrack United 1 North End United 4
The Under Fourteen girls put up a brave battle against league leaders North End before eventually falling to a 4-1 defeat. Abbie Walsh was on target for Tombrack but the firepower of North End, and Katie Law in particular, proved too much for our girls and the Wexford town side eventually left Ballyboy with the three points
Under Eighteen Shield Quarter Final
Tombrack United 1 Gorey Rangers 1 (aet)
(Gorey Rangers won 3-2 on penalties)
Our Under Eighteen girls bowed out of the Shield on penalties despite dominating this match for long periods and creating several and many chances. Rangers did play to their strengths and defended strongly and then scored with their first and only counter attack of the game which left the home team shell shocked. However they battled back and were rewarded when Becky Connaughton scored to bring the sides level and the game moved to extra time where no further goals saw the game go to penalties. Becky and Kelli Maguire scored their spot kicks but the visitors held their nerve to advance to the semi finals
