Unfortunate Injury and an Important Three Points

Wexford Football League Division One
Tombrack United 1 St Cormacs 2
The second of four games in eight days saw our lads go down 2-1 to fellow relegation threatened St Cormacs and probably even more vital on the night is we lost goalkeeper Paul Darcy with a nasty knee injury that saw him head to hospital. The game was deadlocked at 1-1 at half time with Eoin Carton on target for Tombrack and it was also in that opening forty five minutes that our keeper picked up his injury and player manager Joe Newe had to take over in goal. He could do little to stop the shot that won the game for St Cormacs when they scored with fifteen minutes to go and although the home side did all they could to get back on level terms, they could not break down a hungrier St Cormacs side on the night. Everyone in the club wish Paul a speedy recovery and we hope the injury is not as bad as was first feared

Wexford Football League Division One
Tombrack United 3 Taghmon United 1
Two days later, Tombrack were back in action and picked up an important three points as they eventually overcame a dogged Taghmon side in Ballyboy. The lads had to work hard for these three points but they were well earned and deserved and will be important as we try to pull away from the bottom three. Goals were scored by Eoin Carton, James Coleman and Darragh Hendrick and in the end the scoreline could have been more comfortable but manager Joe Newe was happy with the win and the performance. Next up is away to St Leonards on Sunday at 11am followed by a home game to Forth Celtic on Wednesday night.

Best of luck to our Men's B team who take on Boolavogue United on Sunday at 11am in Ajax pitch in their promotion play off as they go in search of their second promotion in a row
